Psychedelic people are, like, weird and stuff.
Nice! I speak faster here. I also eat ball meat.
“If you’re having a good time while you’re writing non-fiction, it’s a sign that you’re probably on the right track… If you’re having a good time while you’re writing fiction my sense, generally, is that you’re probably in trouble.”
I love the New Yorker podcasts even while becoming almost totally disinterested in the NY-er itself. The “Out Loud” podcast is the best of them. They speak with the author of one of the main articles about the subject of their piece. It’s casual format usually does better service to the topic then the long format in print IMHO. Anyway. This week’s features Thomas Mallon who at the very end drops the above tightness.

So last may a dude from Vice UK got in touch with me and asked if I wanted to host a series of travel shows about being on the road. We traveled around for two weeks meeting lots of interesting “touring” people. It was funny since, with Les Savy Fav, we roll just the band and most of the people I interviewed were Roadies or Pyrotechnics Experts or other more “professional” music types. During every interview behind my eyes you may see the thought “Someone pays you to move their guitar!?!” Weird side note- They send me all these Voice Over lines to record which I didn’t like that much so I rewrote a lot of them. But. then. for. some. reason. I. spoke. very. slowly. Hopefully not for all of the episodes…
This character Kim Pimmel has a great body of work revolving around these slick macro images of natural phenomenon. Check out the site here- small scales is a great photo set! Do people ever say Kimple? Fine if they do. I hope. Inspiring
Is there ever a song you think of often but can’t recall any any of its exact details. Other then some desperate couple trade their knife for a train ride to Berlin or something I was this way about this song by Blood Music. I’d think it was a song by some other Swede and re-listen to Jens Lekmen. Nope that’s the song about a Lesbian dinner party in Berlin. Then I decide maybe its somehow a The Knife song. Sometimes I end up rooting around through my Schneider TM albums for the track. Finally this morning I put on this record. What a relief to finally place this sweet track again. This you tube version is even better then on the album. Did this band just fade away? They are, for me, in a lovely slip stream between being alive and being exhumed. 2007 isn’t old enough to be pawed through my curious kids but its to old for the same curious kids to accidentally bump into it. Sorry kids, you know what Hot Snakes say.
I got m’drone on this Morning. After having a pretty meh reception to my performance at Neon Marshmallow on Saturday I felt the urge to remind myself that I can make a crowd pleasing drone just like the rest of em. I tried to do something a little different. Next time I’ll know. You play yer Dubstep at the nightclub and ya play yer Drones at the experimental electronic fest and ya play yer weird video/found sound thing at yer fucking house cause no one wants to see it. I’ll post video of the gig later on this week.
This super cool new technology can make it look like you have anyone’s face you want. As long as you also want it to look like the love child of that person and Leatherface:

The Photo Blog Thing Organized Neatly is a real nice addition to any Google Reader type feed. Just what it says, I couldn’t come up with a more fascinatingly alien approach to my own. The site’s been a fetish of mine for about a year. Today I finally decided I had to have a SUBMISSION. Hopefully it makes the cut. It’s one shake of my Grandmother’s salt shaker all lined up.
